Diefenbunker Museum History

Posted By Omar Carcelen

Mike Braham from the Diefenbunker History Museum spoke about the history of the Diefenbunker Bunker including its construction, operation and eventual decommissioning before its opening as a museum. The bunker was developed response to the Soviet threat during the Cold War as a safe place for government officials to govern from in the event of a nuclear attack. It closed in 1994 and became a private museum shortly afterwards. He encouraged all members who haven’t visited the Diefenbunker to do so.
