Each year the Nepean Kanata Rotary Club offers bursaries to selected graduating high school students from Bell High School, St. Nicholas Adult High School, Sir Robert Borden High School, Youville Centre and Pathways To Education.

Bursary recipients are chosen by their school administration on selection criteria established by the Nepean Kanata Rotary Club.

The selection criteria includes the requirement that the recipient be a graduating student committed to higher education. The student must have good academic standing and be an active volunteer in school and/or community affairs. The latter factor is of prime importance to our Club given our Club’s own role in the service area.

In addition to the bursary, the Club holds a special awards dinner. Bursary recipients and a representative from each high school are invited to attend the dinner. Each student is recognized and presented with a special plaque commemorating the bursary award and they are also given $ 1,000.00 during their graduation day.

Ottawa area high schools are pleased to participate in our program. As one principal said in a letter to our Club: “Your support greatly enhances our school community.”
